Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent Anime Confirmed for 2027, Two Teaser Visuals Draw Praise: "Exactly Like the Manga" "Isn't the Art Divine?"

The TV anime Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent has been confirmed to air in 2027, and the main staff, two teaser visuals and a promotional video using those visuals were unveiled at the same time. Delighted reactions are already pouring in on social media, with comments such as "So incredibly cute," "It looks exactly like the manga, it's the best. I can't wait to hear the voices" and "Isn't the art divine? It's just too good."

The series is a head-on, no-holds-barred youth romance between Hiro Momose, a hopeless girl who always ends up being made to run errands for others, and Dan Ichikura, a former (?) delinquent who is now a bespectacled honor student. After a short serialized run in 2021, strong support from readers led to a series of unusual additional print runs following the release of the second collected volume, and serialization resumed in 2022. Eleven volumes have been released so far, and cumulative circulation has passed one million copies. This much-talked-about title, offering both a heart-fluttering romantic comedy and the irresistible contrast of its fearsome delinquent, is at last being adapted into a TV anime.

Makoto Hoshino, whose credits include Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 2000% and The Little Lies We All Tell, is directing, while Megumi Shimizu, known for Sorry About My Little Brothers and other titles, is handling series composition, and Ruriko Watanabe, whose work includes Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside, is in charge of character design. Animation production is being handled jointly by Studio Flad and Wao World.

The teaser visuals, the first illustrations drawn for the anime, were released simultaneously in two versions: the Heart-Fluttering Version and the Delinquent Version. The Heart-Fluttering Version shows Momose and Ichikura pressed close together for a swoon-worthy effect. The Delinquent Version, meanwhile, brings together the pair along with distinctive characters such as Igarashi, Sakyo, Yachiyo and Yataro in an intimidating design. True to the tagline "Love with a delinquent is thrilling," the visuals hint at a story full of both romance and turmoil.

A promotional video using these teaser visuals has also been unveiled. The footage highlights the contrast between the Heart-Fluttering Version and the Delinquent Version, and online comments such as "I wonder who the voice actors will be?? I'm looking forward to it" and "So excited! I can't wait for it to air" show anticipation growing further for the cast announcement and for what comes next.
