The latest PV and key visual for TV anime The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 have been unveiled, sparking a huge response on social media over the video's content and what's to come.

The newly released trailer for Season 3 depicts the story's setting expanding from the rear palace to the city and even into a neighboring country, as new trials await Maomao and Jinshi. The trailer shows Maomao growing suspicious of the locusts served at breakfast, glimpses of a disaster striking the nation, and a mysterious immortal woman wearing an unsettling smile. It also features Lahan and Rikuson, who appear to be drawing Maomao and the others into new incidents, hinting at the story's expanding world. The trailer closes with an ominous line from Bai Niangniang: "A medicine that heals the heart and erases the pains of this mundane world."

The key visual released alongside the trailer shows Maomao and Jinshi walking through a golden wheat field beneath a beautiful dawn sky, in an image that hints at the two of them heading toward a new land.

The reveal has drawn a flood of excited reactions on social media looking forward to what's to come, including comments such as: "Is that a locust plague...? How will they deal with it? The opening theme for Season 3 has also been confirmed as Yorushika's "Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi dake." It was additionally announced that Reina Ueda will voice the mysterious immortal woman Bai Niangniang, alongside a batch of other news including new character visuals for ten main characters and a preview screening event scheduled for Sunday, September 27.
