Nanahoshi Collapses From "Dryne Syndrome," a Disease Long Thought Eradicated 7,000 Years Ago... Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Episode 9 Preview Scene Cut Released

From the TV anime Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3, the synopsis and a preview scene cut for Episode 9, "Lamentation," have been released.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a fantasy series based on the light novel by Rifujin na Magonote, which began serialization on the novel-posting site Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2012. It follows a 34-year-old unemployed, single, and reclusive NEET who is thrown out of his home by his family and ultimately dies in a traffic accident, only to be reincarnated in a world of swords and magic as Rudeus Greyrat (voiced by Yumi Uchiyama). Drawing on the memories and regrets of his previous life, he vows to "truly give it his all this time," and the series depicts his journey alongside a grand adventure. The series has sold over 18 million copies cumulatively, and 2026 marks the 5th anniversary of its anime adaptation.

TV anime Season 3 began airing on Saturday, July 4. Episodes 1 and 2, called the Eris training arc, depicted one of the heroines, Eris Greyrat (voiced by Ai Kakuma), growing through sword training. Then, from Episode 8, "The Sky Fortress," the story entered a new chapter, the Chaos Breaker arc.

Nanahoshi suddenly coughs up blood and collapses at Chaos Breaker. The cause is "Dryne Syndrome," a disease that was supposedly eradicated 7,000 years ago. Nanahoshi is in despair. Rudeus tells Perugius that he wants to help her. They then set out to search for anyone who might know about "Dryne Syndrome"...
