Yanineko's Surprise Party Hits a Snag as They Fail to Contact the Guest of Honor: Anime Chainsmoker Cat Episode 8 Synopsis and Advance Scene Cuts Released

The synopsis, advance scene cuts, and a preview video for Episode 8, "Even Cats Are Busy Running in December, Nya," from the TV anime Chainsmoker Cat — currently airing on TOKYO MX, BS11, AT-X, and other channels — have been released.

The series is based on the original manga of the same name by NyanNyanFactory, serialized in Kodansha's Young Magazine. Set in a world where humans and beast-people coexist, it's a comedy depicting the laid-back yet trashy daily life of Yanineko (voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi), a chain-smoking, lazy-living beast-woman, and the cat-eared residents around him.

The TV anime Chainsmoker Cat has been airing since July 2026, on TOKYO MX and BS11 every Thursday at 24:30, and on AT-X every Saturday at 24:30 starting July 25 (with repeat broadcasts every Thursday from 28:00). It has also been streaming on Netflix and other platforms since July 2, with new episodes added every Thursday at 25:00.
