"Chopping off the wig..." The Handcrafted Ears Are Outstanding in This "Umamusume" Transcend Cosplay

Wonder Festival 2026 [Summer] was held on July 26, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. Along with photos of Hisame-san, who participated in the event cosplaying as Transcend from "Umamusume: Pretty Derby," we interviewed her about the points she was conscious of for her cosplay and the cosplays she would like to try in the future.

——What was the inspiration behind wanting to cosplay as Transcend from "Umamusume: Pretty Derby" this time ?

Hisame-san (titles omitted below):The dealer I was helping out at this time was showcasing Transcend, so I thought, "If I'm going to do it, I should do the character being showcased!" and chose Transcend-chan. I play "Umamusume" and she was a character I liked, so I was happy to get a good opportunity to cosplay her!

——What are the points you like about this cosplay ?

Hisame:I like that I made the ears from the same wig. I bought a long wig, chopped it off completely, dyed the tufts of hair dark... and made them through many steps. Thanks to that, I think they turned into horse ears that blend easily with the wig!

——Please tell us when and how you first came into contact with "Umamusume," and what points you find attractive about it.

Hisame: I had played it right after its release, but at the time, I felt the system was a bit difficult and had stepped away from it.

The trigger for my return was watching "ROAD TO THE TOP" after it was recommended to me. It wasn't just cute, but it also had a passionate story with a core, so I was drawn in all at once and ended up returning to the game. I've also been taught many things by friends around me, allowing me to get deeply immersed in the game.

The parts I find attractive are that you can enjoy it in a wide variety of ways... such as watching the stage play version, listening to the songs, reading the manga adaptation... or even looking at the episodes of the actual horses (that served as the motifs)...! Having many different forms of entry points is really great, isn't it...!
