"Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu" Coming in 2027! Key Visual Released

It has been confirmed that a new Pokémon stop-motion animated series, "Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu" will premiere on Disney's official streaming service, Disney+, in 2027. Along with this announcement, the teaser key visual for the title was unveiled.

Marking 30 years since the launch of "Pokémon Red" and "Pokémon Green," "Pokémon" has grown into a globally beloved franchise spanning video games, anime, trading card games, and more.

This series is produced by Aardman, the world-renowned animation studio behind "Shaun the Sheep" and "Wallace & Gromit," which has won four Academy Awards alongside BAFTA and Annie Awards. Set in the vast Galar region, this tale of courage follows Sirfetch'd and Pichu as they set out on an epic journey to protect the Pokémon native to the region. Through unexpected troubles, dangers, and encounters with new rivals and allies in an unfamiliar world, the show portrays the strong friendship and bonds they forge, brought to life through a visual world rich in Aardman's signature warmth and humor.

The project was announced on August 28 local time in San Francisco, USA, at "Pokémon XP," a large-scale experiential event. Phil Linda, Director of Pokémon Original Animation at The Pokémon Company International (responsible for planning and development), took the stage alongside members of Aardman's production team—Director Tom Parkinson, Creative Director of IP Nat McKay, and Creative Lead of Model Making James Young—to unveil the teaser key visual. Designed to build anticipation for Sirfetch'd and Pichu's journey, the visual has drawn keen attention toward the pair's upcoming adventure.
