Anime 'Firefly Wedding' Key Visual Reveal Gives Fans "Goosebumps," High Expectations for Voice Actor Koki Uchiyama's Shinpei

The TV anime 'Firefly Wedding' will begin broadcasting nationwide on October 9th, airing every Friday at 11:30 PM on Fuji TV's "Noitamina" block. Ahead of this, the key visual for the series was unveiled for the first time at an advance screening event held on September 6th, generating major buzz among fans.

The series is based on the manga by Oreko Tachibana, which has surpassed 4.5 million copies in circulation and won the Grand Prize at the "E-Comic Awards 2024." It depicts the twisted, life-threatening romance between Satoko Kirigaya, the daughter of a noble family with only a short time left to live, and Shinpei Goto, an assassin who is deeply obsessed with her. The TV anime is animated by david production, directed by Takahiro Kamei, with character designs by Yukiko Aikei.

At the advance screening event, Lynn (voice of Satoko Kirigaya), Koki Uchiyama (voice of Shinpei Goto), and Kento Ito (voice of Kotaro Ogawa) took the stage in stunning kimonos. Following the advance screening of episodes 1 through 3, a post-screening talk show was held where the cast highly praised the deep, dark world of the series, noting the horror elements and action sequences unique to the anime medium.

The key visual, unveiled for the first time during the event, depicts Satoko dressed in a pure white shiromuku (traditional wedding kimono) and Shinpei in a casual kimono sharing ceremonial sake. It makes for a bewitching image where traditional Japanese beauty and an unsettling atmosphere coexist.
