A surreal yet adorable image titled "Bakery-ren" has been posted on the official Frieren: Beyond Journey's End X account, generating buzz among fans. The photo shows a Frieren plush beside a koppepan bun, and fans who identified the shop have responded with delight.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a fantasy manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world after the Demon King has been defeated by the hero's party, it follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years, as she embarks on a "journey to understand people" following the death of a former companion. The manga has been a major hit and has expanded across a wide range of media, including a TV anime adaptation. The TV anime has so far aired Season 1 and Season 2, and Season 3, "The Golden Land Arc," has been announced to premiere in October 2027.
The published image shows a Frieren plush wearing her usual expression, with a large koppepan bun wrapped in a plastic bag placed in front of her. The packaging reads "Sweet red bean paste and butter." As the "Bakery-ren" caption suggests, she appears to have paid a visit to a bakery.
Before this post, there were photos of the Frieren plush at Morioka Station and a post showing her enjoying reimen (cold noodles). Fans who seemed to recognize the shop flooded the replies with comments such as "Could it be Fukuda Pan?!" and "Fukuda Pan this time!! The official account... just how much are they enjoying Morioka?!" Many other warm reactions have come in, mainly from locals and people familiar with Morioka, including "Please eat Fukuda Pan as soon as you buy it! The sooner, the better ◎ You can fully enjoy how good it is!!", "This is exciting for Iwate!" and "You can't skip this when you come to Morioka, right?"
