"Jinshi Is So Into Maomao" and "His Love Is Overflowing": Fans React to The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Non-Credit Ending Video

After the premiere of Season 3 of the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries, the non-credit ending video for the ending theme "AIYOU" by Eve has been released. Fans are buzzing over the newly revealed, meaningful scenes featuring the hairpin, a key item in the story.

The released video begins with Maomao holding a hairpin, then quietly layers scenes that seem to trace the days so far, including the pleasure district and the rear palace, as well as the journey Maomao and Jinshi have shared. Eve, who wrote and performed the ending theme, commented on the song: "I wanted to see the you that exists apart from your role and position. Even in the loneliness of gazing at a distant star like that, the heart is still drawn toward it. I've also put into this song that feeling that can't be explained by reason."

In response to the video, social media users have posted comments such as "Looks like Jinshi has one more love song now...," "Jinshi's affection is just pouring out. He's holding the hairpin, gazing at it, and thinking of nothing but Maomao," "The Flower and Moon Hairpin... he really gave her something outrageous," "Jinshi is so into Maomao. But Maomao puts the hairpin down face-down... She still wants to pretend not to notice, doesn't she? Hang in there, Jinshi," and "It's so good that the opening is from Jinshi's point of view and the ending is from Maomao's."

The Apothecary Diaries is a mystery series set in the rear palace, in which a girl working as a "poison taster" solves difficult cases. Season 2 aired in 2025, and Season 3 began airing on Friday, October 2, 2026. A film adaptation, the first in the series, is also scheduled for release on Friday, December 11.
