Sudden “Full Eyebrow Shave”! Fans Swoon Over Usagi's Eight Eyebrow Variations on Chiikawa's Official X: “Thinking They're Imitating Chiikawa and Hachiware”

An illustration showing eight different eyebrow looks for Usagi has been posted on the official Chiikawa X account, becoming a big topic among fans. Many reactions poured in to the comical sight of how dramatically the mood changes with just the eyebrows.

Chiikawa is a popular manga that illustrator Nagano has been posting on X since 2020. Fans of all ages, from adults to children, love the contrast between the “small, cute things” known as “Chiikawa” and their world, which is severe enough to make readers anxious at times. The TV anime airs on the Fuji TV network, including within Mezamashi TV, and the film Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island is now in theaters.

The image, titled “MAYUGE ZENZORI” (shaving off all the eyebrows), lines up Usagi with eight different eyebrow patterns. Charming drawings show how the impression changes completely with each tweak, from stately thick brows and sharp dramatic-style brows to worried brows and expressions reminiscent of Hachiware and Chiikawa, making for a thoroughly satisfying illustration.

In response to the post, many fans left cheerful comments and named their favorite looks, such as “Too cute, I love every Usagi,” “Didn't expect the impression to change this much lol,” “This reminds me of Chiikawa's face from when they swapped bodies,” “Thinking that Usagi is probably imitating Chiikawa and Hachiware in these ones, love it,” “There's a valiant, handsome one in there,” “I can't get enough of this thick-browed one,” “Somehow I just love this silly lord vibe,” and “Usagi with the usual eyebrows is the cutest.”
