'Shogakukan's Seven Sages of Destruction?!' 'Shogakukan Avengers': Manga Legends Gather in Official Frieren: Beyond Journey's End X Post, Sending Fans Into an Uproar

The official X account for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End posted a group shot titled "Gathering Frieren," showing five men and a Frieren plush toy. All five are legendary manga artists, and many manga fans were stunned by the "Star-Studded Frieren" lineup.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a fantasy manga with original story by Kanehito Yamada and art by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world "after" the Demon King has been defeated by the hero's party, it follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years, as she sets out on a "journey to understand people" following the death of a former companion. The manga has been a huge hit and has expanded across a wide range of media, including a TV anime adaptation. Season 1 and Season 2 of the TV anime have already aired, and it has been announced that Season 3, the "Golden Land arc," will begin airing in October 2027.

In the image, Mitsuru Adachi of 'Touch,' Yuji Yokoyama of 'Tokachi Hitoribocchi Nōen,' Kenjiro Hata of 'Hayate the Combat Butler,' Gosho Aoyama of Detective Conan, and Kazuhiko Shimamoto of 'Blazing Transfer Student' stand together smiling, with Hata in the center holding the Frieren plush. Shimamoto appears for the second day in a row, and Yokoyama is wearing an apron.

Fans flooded the post with reactions of astonishment, such as "What a star-studded lineup. It's not a funeral, it's 'Star-Studded Frieren'!," "Whaaaat, a spectacular Frieren!," "So many big names together that all I can do is laugh," "A gathering of legends," "Shogakukan's Seven Sages of Destruction?!" and "Shogakukan Avengers." Other comments included "A crazy lineup has gathered in Tokachi again this year," "Members of the farm club," and "Oh, is this the annual curry tasting party?"
