Creditless OP and ED Videos Released! Anime “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” Episode 1 Synopsis and Teaser Cuts Unveiled

The synopsis and teaser cuts for Episode 1 of the anime “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” have been released, along with the creditless OP and ED videos. The series premiered on October 11 (Sun.) at 11:15 p.m. on the Fuji TV network nationwide.

“Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” is an enhanced version of the TV anime “Dragon Ball Super,” for which Akira Toriyama handled the original work, story, and character design, featuring newly added cuts, redrawn scenes, and a restructured story. Set several years after the fierce battle with Majin Buu, it depicts a universe-shaking clash between Beerus, the God of Destruction who has awakened from a long slumber (voiced by Koichi Yamadera), and Son Goku and his friends (Son Goku voiced by Masako Nozawa).

The opening video, which begins with Megatera Zero's powerful vocals, portrays Son Goku one scene after another, from his childhood through his growth over countless fierce battles. Next to appear is Beerus, the God of Destruction. Son Goku transforms from a Saiyan into Super Saiyan God and then Super Saiyan Blue, tracing the evolution of his strength. Set to passionate vocals and fast-paced sound, the dynamic opening video shows Son Goku grown even stronger through his past battles, and hints at the fierce fights ahead against formidable foes, starting with Beerus, who await him and his friends.

The ending video, featuring “Kanpeki no Peki” by Vickeblanka, opens on a fantastical scene in which a radiant Shenron rises into view. Set to a light rhythm and a crystal-clear singing voice, the final stretch shows one scene after another hinting at the next chapter of the story on the body of the gracefully dancing Shenron. The ending lingers with the afterglow of the story as Shenron's fantastical radiance blends with the song.
