Dragon Ball Asks Fans for Their Most Memorable Scene from the Frieza Battle, Drawing a Flood of Famous Lines: "Damn It All," "You Idiot!!" and "Are You Talking About Krillin?!!"

The official Dragon Ball X account posted an illustration of Frieza along with the message "Which scene from the battle against Frieza left the biggest impression on you?", sparking a big buzz among fans. Many fans responded with heartfelt replies, once again highlighting the impact of the "emperor of evil."

Dragon Ball is an adventure battle manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) for about 11 years, from 1984 to 1995. Centered on the legendary "Dragon Balls," which grant any wish once all seven are gathered, it follows the protagonist Goku as he meets a variety of rivals and powerful foes and grows through training and battle. A massive hit, the series has more than 260 million copies of its manga in circulation worldwide and has expanded into a global media franchise that includes TV anime, anime films, and video games.

The released illustration shows Frieza in his first form alongside Son Gohan. With his fearless grin, Frieza already exudes the full aura of one of the series' greatest villains. The artwork also served as the cover of Dragon Ball Daizenshuu.

In response to the post, fans named a wide range of scenes, including "When he destroyed Planet Vegeta. He didn't hesitate for even a second," "Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan teaming up. It had my heart pounding," "The scene in his second form where he impaled Krillin with his horn was intense," "Goku activates Kaio-ken times 20 only to be stopped with a single hand, and in his despair, 'Damn it all' really stuck with me," "And I still have two more transformations left...," "How incredibly simple his final form was," and "It's got to be that 'You idiot' at the very end."

Many others also focused on aspects beyond his strength and cruelty, with comments such as "Lord Frieza getting flustered in spite of himself by the Ginyu Force, a bunch of capable but eccentric oddballs," "I was moved by the part where he leads his army in a dance battle," and "The fights were great, but I also liked the scenes that showed his surprisingly human side, like when he anxiously sends his subordinates after someone, flinches a little at the Ginyu Force, and gets excited in front of the Dragon Balls."

Among all of these, the most common responses were along the lines of "It has to be when Krillin explodes and Goku turns Super Saiyan!", "The scene where Son Goku awakens as a Super Saiyan after the death of his best friend Krillin," and "I'd say it's the scene where Goku awakens as a Super Saiyan in rage after Krillin is killed." Some fans also replied with Son Goku's line, "Are you talking about Krillin?!!"
