“Is Himmel About to Feed Frieren?” “It’s Seriously Too Godly” Fans Delighted by Tea Time Visuals for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Anime

On the official X account for the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime, the release of the third edition of the in-store lottery WEB Kuji Shucchōjo! was announced, along with new original tea time–themed artwork. The special visuals, which show the characters enjoying a tea party, have drawn plenty of praise.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a fantasy manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world “after” the Demon King has been defeated by the hero’s party, it follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki), as she sets out on a “journey to understand people” following the death of a former companion. The manga has been a huge hit and has expanded widely across media, including a TV anime adaptation. The TV anime has aired its first and second seasons so far, and it has been announced that the third season, the “Golden Land arc,” will air starting in October 2027.

The released visuals come in two versions: Frieren and Himmel (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto), and Fern (voiced by Kana Ichinose) and Stark (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi). In the Frieren and Himmel visual, set against a refreshing mint-green background, the two sit facing each other across a table, both smiling. Himmel appears to be picking up a macaron and holding it out to Frieren. In the Fern and Stark visual, set against a warm beige background, the two look as though they are chatting while eating sweets.

In response to the post, fans left a flood of delighted and admiring comments, such as “New art on a tea time theme? I-it’s not like I want it or anything! But just imagining Frieren drinking tea, my wallet is going to melt before I can even buy a thousand years’ worth of grimoires,” “Is Himmel about to feed Frieren with an ‘ahh’?” “Himmel and Frieren are gods,” “It’s seriously too godly. This might be my favorite ever,” “Genius design,” and “They’re on a date!”
