Animmersive Live “LAYRA inspired by BELLE” has been running since October 10. In this experiential entertainment event that fuses “anime” and “immersive,” a spin-off story set five years after the animated film Belle unfolds.
More than just singing live, the production offers a wide range of staging, including elements of internet culture and theater and a fusion of visuals and sound, and a different cast appears depending on the performance.
For this article, we interviewed artist miwa, one of the cast members who also performed at the dress rehearsal, about the appeal of the production and the challenges she faced.
——Animmersive Live is an entirely new form of entertainment. What do you see as the appeal of this production?
miwa: I feel that what makes Animmersive Live special is being able to perform alongside staging that uses the latest visual and audio technology.
With stage productions until now, there are sets, and the approach is to fill in the gaps by expanding the world in your imagination and sharing that world on stage. With Animmersive Live, there are visuals that go beyond what you could imagine.
The sound also comes from all over the theater, which heightens the sense of immersion. I think you'll feel as though you've stepped into a movie.
——As for the content of the show, live performance is of course the core, but it has a diverse structure that also includes elements such as theater. As for the singing, it is practically your main profession, and I was deeply moved.
miwa: Thank you!
