The theatrical anime Witch on the Holy Night, from TYPE-MOON and ufotable, will open nationwide in Japan and in IMAX simultaneously on Friday, November 20. An IMAX visual has also been unveiled, depicting Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji using magecraft in an amusement park.

This latest work brings together TYPE-MOON, known for the "Fate" series and The Garden of Sinners, and ufotable, the animation studio behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] films. It depicts the meeting and transformation of three people who would never have crossed paths otherwise: Aoko Aozaki, an apprentice magician; Alice Kuonji, a witch; and Sōjūrō Shizuki, a transfer student from the countryside who knows nothing about their world.

To celebrate the film's release, stage greetings have been scheduled for Saturday, November 21 at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo and Sunday, November 22 at TOHO Cinemas Umeda in Osaka. Haruka Tomatsu, who voices Aoko Aozaki, and Yusuke Kobayashi, who voices Sōjūrō Shizuki, will appear at each venue. The "Ikebukuro Jack" campaign leading up to the theatrical release has also begun. Following the entrance staircase decorations at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro from Friday, October 30 and the outdoor advertisement at the Animate Ikebukuro Main Store from Sunday, November 1, a pre-release event is scheduled to take place in Ikebukuro on the eve of the release, Thursday, November 19.

Music release information has also been unveiled all at once. The theme song "Yoru to Ao," by supercell, will be available as a single for streaming from Saturday, November 21. The anime edition, with a jacket featuring an original illustration drawn by ufotable, will be released on CD on Wednesday, November 25, and the supercell edition on Wednesday, December 9. An original soundtrack featuring the score by Hideyuki Fukasawa will also go on sale on Wednesday, December 23.
