Fans were left in shock as Gojo, who boasts top-tier strength in the series, was defeated without being able to do much. The incredibly brutal manner of his defeat led viewers to disbelief, with comments like "The amount of blood is insane," "Did Gojo-sensei lose...?" "No way, Satoru!!?!" and "I can't believe Satoru Gojo took damage." Toji, who cornered Gojo, was also met with reactions of horror, such as "He's a real monster," and "Truly the ultimate assassin."

The currently streaming anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, which has surpassed 100 million copies in total circulation. The story, depicting battles between "curses" born from negative human emotions and the jujutsu sorcerers who exorcise them, takes a major turn when Yuji Itadori, who ends up sharing a body with the "King of Curses," Ryomen Sukuna, enrolls in the "Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College," a special institution for dealing with curses.

The first season of the TV anime, which started in October 2020, received a huge response not only domestically but worldwide. The second season, which aired from July to December 2023, covered the story of the "strongest jujutsu sorcerer" Satoru Gojo and the "worst curse user" Suguru Geto's high school days in "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" as well as the "Shibuya Incident," which continues from the first season's timeline. The production of the sequel "Culling Game" is also underway, and on May 30, 2025, "Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death - The Movie Compilation" will be released.
