Chiikawa & Hachiware Stand Brave with a Sasumata! Their Precious Courage Shines Through Fear

In episode 98 of the anime "Chiikawa," Chiikawa (voiced by Haruka Aoki) and Hachiware (voiced by Makoto Tanaka) try to dance away their fear after watching a scary story but end up trembling as the terror returns. A mysterious shadow also makes an appearance in this episode.

In episode 99, Chiikawa and Hachiware initially believe the shadow belongs to Usagi (voiced by Ari Ozawa), but an odd phenomenon occurs when the shadow's ears increase to three. Usagi's singing voice is heard but suddenly speeds up, followed by a knocking sound on the door, leading Chiikawa to believe it’s a ghostly phenomenon and resolve to confront it.

Though initially terrified by the ghost-like situation caused by the rabbit-like shadow, Chiikawa bravely decides to face it with his trusted sasumata. Even Hachiware, who had been carefree, is persuaded by Chiikawa to recognize it as a supernatural occurrence rather than a fun phenomenon, leading to a depiction of them standing together to confront it.

This scene drew responses such as "Even when crying from fear, Chiikawa's bravery is precious," and "Chiikawa and Hachiware holding a sasumata are too cute." There were also concerns expressed, like "Hachiware's lack of caution is a bit worrying."
