The anime "Medalist" is based on a manga serialized in the monthly men's magazine "Afternoon" (Kodansha) by Tsurumaikada. The original work was selected as the first place in the comics department of the "Next Manga Award 2022", and also won the general department of the "68th Shogakukan Manga Award" and the general department of the "48th Kodansha Manga Award".
