[SYNOPSIS]
The story is set in the 11th year of the Tenpo era (1840). In a world where society is destabilized due to a great famine, demons have started disguising themselves as humans, deceiving people for their amusement. In the remote mountain village of Kadono, far from the city of Edo, lives the sibling duo Jinta and Suzune. In this village, there is a priestess known as "Itsukihime," and Jinta has been assigned as a guardian of this "Itsukihime," tasked with exorcising malevolent spirits as a demon-slaying role. One day, a report comes in that two demons have appeared in the nearby forest, prompting Jinta to head there for extermination. In the forest, he encounters a demon with red-black skin, shaggy hair, two horns, and a powerful physique. Though he was informed there would be two demons, there was only one present. The demon tells him that the other has "gone to the land of Kadono"...
