The "Fairly Big" Frogs Debate Between Maomao and Jinshi Is Too Much Like a Romantic Comedy! Anime "The Apothecary Diaries" Episode 36

In Episode 36 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," which began airing sequentially from March 28th, Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki) accidentally touches Jinshi's (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) groin. Maomao insists that what she touched was a frog, but Jinshi counters her claim. Online, fans were abuzz, saying things like "Jinshi-sama, certified frog lol" and "This is too funny."

After being attacked by an assassin, Maomao and Jinshi flee into a waterfall cave. Maomao climbs onto Jinshi to escape through a hole in the ceiling, but loses her balance when a frog falls down. In Episode 36, titled "Kazuigetsu," Maomao ends up in close contact with Jinshi, accidentally touching his groin.

Realizing that Jinshi, as a eunuch, should not possess "something that shouldn't be there," Maomao, thinking it would be troublesome if she knew the truth, tries to cover it up by saying, "I'm sorry. I might have squished a frog."

Jinshi, wanting to finally reveal his secret, protests, "A frog would be much smaller!" Maomao retorts, "There are plenty of fairly big frogs this season," to which Jinshi responds with a frustrated expression, "Fairly big!?"

Maomao then wipes her hands, prompting an angry Jinshi to exclaim, "Hey! What are you wiping your hands for?" Maomao calmly replies, "Well, frogs are gross, aren't they? They secrete slime," to which Jinshi desperately counters, "Gross... Who are you calling slimy!?"
