Jinshi inadvertently stepped on Maomao's landmine... In the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," there's a rare scene where the usually cool and composed Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki) reveals intense hatred. This occurs when Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) accidentally mentions the name of Maomao's biological father.

Lakan (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto), a high-ranking officer overseeing the military, is a genius strategist but is considered an eccentric and keeps a distance from those around him. Although he is biologically related to Maomao and shows a one-sided interest in her, Maomao harbors a deep dislike for him due to past events.

At one point, Jinshi is approached by Lakan, who has been persistently involving himself in matters, and is asked, "Could you tell my daughter that I'll visit her soon?" Subsequently, Jinshi approaches Maomao, saying, "There's an official who wants to meet you." When Jinshi mentions Lakan's name, Maomao doesn't respond but briefly reveals intense hatred. Her cold expression and piercing gaze, as if rejecting his existence, cause Jinshi to instinctively recoil, barely managing to say, "I'll find a way to refuse him."
