Regarding anime works, this new "Ghost in the Shell" follows the Oshii version, Kamiyama version, and Kise version as the fourth "Ghost in the Shell," or, if you separate "GHOST IN THE SHELL / Ghost in the Shell" and "Innocence," and divide the "S.A.C." series into seasons 1, 2, and SSS, the "ARISE" series and "New Movie," and the "SAC_2045" series into seasons 1 and 2, it becomes the 10th project. From the perspective of changes in production staff, it could be seen as the first of the second-generation type. Given that the original manga is old, I hope you can overlook that (apologies) and enjoy this as a good visual work in some form.
