"Chiikawa" is a popular manga that illustrator Nagano began posting on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the "Japan Character Awards 2022" and again at the "Japan Character Awards 2024" announced in July 2024. The gap between the small and cute characters and the harsh worldview has gained popularity among both adults and children, with followers now exceeding 3.94 million.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" airs on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" program around 7:40 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday. From April 2025, new episodes will be suspended for about three months, during which time popular past episodes will be broadcast as revivals. Additionally, "Chiikawa's" first smartphone app, "Chiikawa Pocket," was released on March 27 and is now available in 43 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States. The number of downloads has exceeded 3 million.
