"Chiikawa" is a popular manga by illustrator Nagano which began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the 'Japan Character Awards 2022,' and again at the 'Japan Character Awards 2024' announced in July 2024. The gap between the cute small characters and the harsh worldview has captivated a wide audience, from adults to children, reaching over 3.95 million followers to date.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" is broadcast on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 a.m. From April 2025, new episodes will be paused for about three months to rebroadcast popular past episodes. Additionally, "Chiikawa Poketto," the first smartphone app for "Chiikawa," was released on March 27, starting services in 43 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States. The app has surpassed 3 million downloads.
