—Now, this time, those scenes can be experienced in theaters. What are your impressions after watching the ‘Movie Compilation’?
Viewing the content all at once as opposed to in five separate episodes leaves a very different impression. It felt like I was seeing something new. Watching it straight through, I was surprised by how Geto’s monologue at the beginning resonated so strongly in the latter half. With a runtime of about two hours, it really felt as if it were made for the big screen.
—In the scene selection survey presented at “AnimeJapan 2025,” one of the scenes involving Geto that connects to that opening monologue was also included.
That scene will really stick in your mind! The way he mutters “monkey” with such vacant eyes… It was also great to be able to see the process that led to that state for him, all in one go, thanks to the ‘Movie Compilation.’ I realized that there were emotions I had overlooked when watching the episodes in segments.

—There aren't any newly-recorded scenes in the main part, but the new mini anime “Jujusanpo: The Movie Compilation” will be included.
That’s no fair, isn’t it! Seeing Gojo, Geto, and Shoko watching a movie together—while that isn’t depicted in the main story—it makes you feel like, “Surely there were days when the three of them went to see movies together like this,” giving us a glimpse of their youth. The production team is so mischievous for creating such emotionally charged scenes, haha! But that’s precisely why the main story shines all the brighter. Even the seating arrangement of the three felt really “like them.”
—Are there any memorable episodes from when you were recording the anime series, perhaps interactions with the rest of the cast?
My scenes with Takehito Koyasu, who played Toji Fushiguro, were definitely memorable. Toji is an incredibly powerful character, but Koyasu-san also had an overwhelming presence in the recording booth. Even within the matter-of-fact exchanges, there was an underlying sense of fear that emanated from Koyasu-san’s demeanor. I heard that he has always been a fan of the series and wanted to play Toji. When I heard that, I wholeheartedly thought, “Of course! That’s why he’s such a perfect fit!” (laughs).
