"Chiikawa" is a popular manga series created by illustrator Nagano, which began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prize at the "Japan Character Award 2022," and again at the "Japan Character Award 2024" announced in July 2024. The gap between the tiny, cute characters and the sometimes harsh world portrayed has made it widely popular among both adults and children, with the number of followers surpassing 3.98 million to date.

The anime adaptation of "Chiikawa" currently airs on Fuji TV as part of the "Mezamashi TV" program every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 am. Starting April 2025, new episodes will be on hiatus for about three months, during which previously popular episodes will be rebroadcast. In addition, the first "Chiikawa" smartphone app, "Chiikawa Pocket," launched on March 27, with service beginning in 43 countries and regions worldwide, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States. The app has already surpassed 3 million downloads.
