The anime-original eerie direction garnered widespread reactions online, with comments such as, “I thought it was just the sound of water, but when I realized it was applause, I was creeped out…,” “It hits you mentally,” “It was genuinely frightening,” and “Does this series even care about people’s feelings?”

Currently available in a binge-watch release, the “Jujutsu Kaisen” anime is based on the blockbuster manga by Gege Akutami, which has surpassed 100 million copies in total circulation, including digital versions. The story begins with Yūji Itadori (voiced by Junya Enoki), who, after coming to share his body with the King of Curses, Ryōmen Sukuna (voiced by Junichi Suwabe), transfers to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, a special institution for fighting curses. The “Culling Game” arc, a sequel to the second season of the anime broadcast in 2023, is currently in production. Additionally, the theatrical compilation film “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” will be released on May 30, 2025, and the stage play “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” will begin its run in August of the same year. Furthermore, the smartphone game “Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade” is currently hosting a special event celebrating its 1.5-year anniversary.
