Ikimono-gakari to Perform OP Theme, Sora Tomonari Chosen for ED Theme! First Main Trailer and Teaser Visual for KINGDOM Anime Season 6 Unveiled!

The opening theme for the sixth season of the TV anime "Kingdom", scheduled to air on NHK General TV from October 2025, will be performed by Ikimono-gakari, while Sora Tomonari will perform the ending theme. Comments from both artists have been released. Additionally, the first main trailer and teaser visual have also been revealed.

This anime is based on the popular manga "Kingdom" by Yasuhisa Hara, which is serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha). The original comic has sold over 110 million copies in total, and the fourth live-action film "Kingdom: Daishōgun no Kikan" opened in 2024, grossing 8 billion yen at the box office to become a massive hit.

The story is set in ancient China, during the Warring States period, and follows the boy Shin (voiced by Masakazu Morita), who aspires to become the greatest general under heaven, and the young king Ei Sei (Ying Zheng) (voiced by Jun Fukuyama), who later becomes the first emperor. This historical epic anime has previously aired its first season (NHK BS Premium: June 2012 – February 2013), second season (June 2013 – March 2014), third season (April – October 2021), fourth season (April – October 2022), and fifth season (January – March 2024). Season 6 is set to begin airing on NHK General TV in October 2025.
