Special Footage and New Visual Show Jinshi's Resolve as He Leads the Imperial Guard in "The Apothecary Diaries" Anime

Ahead of the broadcast of Episode 46, "The Imperial Guard," new visuals and a special video have been released from the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries."

This story centers on Maomao, a girl who solves difficult cases as a poison tester in the inner palace. Based on the hugely popular manga with over 40 million cumulative copies sold, the anime's second season began airing in January 2025. The series consistently ranks high in streaming charts and has expanded into exhibitions and collaborations with Universal Studios Japan. In the second cour of season two, which started in April, Mrs. GREEN APPLE performs the opening theme, Omoinotake performs the ending theme, and the series has been drawing attention on social media and in video view counts.

The newly released visual depicts Jinshi leading the Imperial Guard under the emperor’s direct command as they move to suppress the Clan of the Shi. Jinshi is shown with his hair tied up high, wearing a red hairpin signifying his imperial lineage, and clad in indigo armor, gazing resolutely into the distance. The tagline, “And then, dawn breaks,” accompanies the visual, hinting at Jinshi’s resolve to confront the position he had previously been running from and move forward as the emperor’s brother, suggesting significant developments to come.
