Perhaps because she is playing a role that is not her own, Maomao (CV: Aoi Yūki) is actually enjoying her interactions with Jinshi (CV: Takeo Ōtsuka) for a change...! In Episode 17 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," viewers were charmed by the scene where Maomao and Jinshi, both in disguise as different people, stroll through the town together. In Episode 17, Jinshi, a eunuch, disguises himself as a commoner to conceal his noble status and ventures out into the city. For some reason, Maomao also dons a disguise and ends up going out together with him. Transforming from her usual plain appearance, Maomao puts on a full face of makeup and glamorous clothes, taking on the look of an elegant young lady.

At first, Maomao doesn’t seem particularly enthusiastic, but as she settles into her new persona, she gradually smiles more frequently, clearly beginning to enjoy herself. Jinshi, who now has to act as Maomao's attendant, can't help but behave in his usual dignified manner. Maomao corrects him, saying that he won't be able to conceal his identity behaving like that.
