I guess she just wasn't interested in the subject," "She failed so matter-of-factly, that's kind of funny," and "She really has no interest in things she doesn't care about."

Currently, "The Apothecary Diaries" anime series—based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu—is being streamed for binge-watching. The series has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines and boasts over 40 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired for two consecutive cours starting October 2023, garnering widespread attention for Maomao’s detective stories as a “poison tester” in the rear palace and her comical interactions with Jinshi. Season two of the anime began airing in January 2025.
