A special program titled "SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary Pre-Finale Special" was exclusively broadcast for free on ABEMA on Saturday, June 21 at 9:00 PM.

"SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary" is an anime adaptation based on the popular mystery novel series by Honobu Yonezawa, a Naoki Prize-winning author known for the Classic Literature Club series such as "Hyouka." The series, which has exceeded 1.1 million copies in circulation, tells a coming-of-age mystery about Jōgorō Kobato, who, after bitter past experiences due to his exceptional reasoning skills, strives to become an upright and modest "shoshimin" (ordinary citizen). He forms a mutually beneficial "symbiotic relationship" with his classmate Yuki Osanai, who shares the same goal, but somehow the two continually get entangled in inexplicable incidents and misfortunes.

With its long-awaited anime adaptation in July 2024, the intricately woven mysteries and the sensitive exchanges between Kobato and Osanai quickly became a hit. The second season began airing in April 2025, further escalating the excitement.

The program featured Shūichirō Umeda (Jōgorō Kobato), Hina Yomiya (Yuki Osanai), and Teppei Uenishi (Takahiko Urino).
