The anime portrays Jōgorō Kobato, who, possessing sharp deduction skills, endured bitter experiences in the past and now aims to become a pure and modest "shoshimin." He forms a mutually beneficial "symbiotic relationship" with his like-minded classmate Yuki Osanai, but the pair somehow continue to become embroiled in puzzling incidents and accidents.

Although not actually a couple, the story centers on the unique dynamic of their "symbiotic relationship," where understanding and cooperation are key—an aspect of the show that has won fans over. As the finale approaches, the program hosted a retrospective talk.

First, they unveiled the "Favorite Scene Rankings" for each arc, spanning from the "Spring-Only Strawberry Tart Incident" to the "Autumn-Only Chestnut Kinton Incident." Among them were viewer-selected favorite moments, such as Osanai revealing her "true nature" in episode 3 of the opening chapter, "Spring-Only Strawberry Tart Incident," when she displays a desire for revenge against the person who stole her bicycle. Another memorable moment sees the relationship between Kobato and Osanai significantly shift in episode 6 of the "Summer-Only Tropical Parfait Incident," as Kobato is pressed about Charlotte’s memories. The three voice actors shared a chorus of empathy and awe in response to these picks.

In the "Autumn-Only Chestnut Kinton Incident," one ranked scene—predicted by Umeda as one "viewers will never forget in their lives"—came in second place: Osanai evaluates her boyfriend Urino’s actions up until now.

In this scene, as a kind of revenge, Osanai delivers blunt and harsh criticism to her boyfriend, leaving Urino’s pride in tatters. Reflecting on the recording, Yomiya revealed, "There really wasn’t any malice at all in the studio. I found myself naturally voicing what came to Yuki-chan’s heart." She added, "But watching the anime, I realized Urino-kun was in real trouble…(laughs). Teppei, how did you feel in the studio while playing Urino-kun in that scene?" she asked.

Confronted by Yomiya, Uenishi began to break a sweat, saying, "Oh no! Is Round 2 starting? I thought Takahiko Urino was done, and now it’s Teppei Uenishi’s report card!? Please, someone help me!" causing the studio to burst into laughter, much like Urino in the show.

Later he shared some behind-the-scenes trivia: "For that grading scene, when it aired, Osanai’s tone sounded like she was looking down on Urino, but during the test reading, the perspective was actually quite equal. But then, direction came in: 'Speak more like you're talking to a five-year-old!' I thought, 'What? Urino is being treated like a five-year-old!?' (laughs)."

Finally, reflecting on the role of Urino, he stated, "To play Urino, I read the original novels and watched your performances from episode 1 to really establish the character before going to the studio. But interacting directly with Yomiya-san, your performances drew out even more raw feelings from Urino. Until before the recording, I always thought Urino’s main motivation was to be recognized, but I realized he genuinely likes Osanai as well. My portrayal came from a place of truly loving Osanai," expressing his gratitude to Yomiya and sharing insights about his approach to the role.
