The anime “The Apothecary Diaries” is based on the light novel by Hyuganatsu. It has been adapted into manga as well, with the series surpassing 40 million copies sold. This mystery-solving entertainment follows Maomao (CV: Aoi Yūki), the apothecary’s daughter with an unusual obsession for poisons and medicines, and the enigmatic, handsome eunuch Jinshi as they tackle challenging cases within the Imperial Palace.

[Synopsis]
Maomao, who had been held captive, is safely rescued, and Jinshi has a moment’s relief. However, the leader of the Shi Clan, Shishou, finally appears. Even when notified of his arrest for rebellion and with all escape routes cut off, Shishou appears to retain a certain composure. Meanwhile, Loulan, setting out to accomplish her own purpose, visits Shenmei and begins to recount the hidden secrets of the Shi Clan.
