Currently available for binge streaming, "The Apothecary Diaries" anime is based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It’s also been adapted into manga form in two monthly magazines, with the series’ total circulation having surpassed 40 million copies. The TV anime aired for two consecutive cours from October 2023, garnering widespread attention and popularity for its unique mystery drama centered on Maomao, who ends up working as a “poison tester” in the rear palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The second season of the anime began airing from January 2025.
