There was even a shot reminiscent of the Zeta Gundam finale. Amate Yuzuriha (Machu) comes crashing down from above and bursts into the theater—just like that scene when Kamille Bidan jumps in between Haman and Quattro. However, instead of the taut psychological drama that unfolded there, what occurred here was a wild slapstick scene.

Whereas the theater scene in "Zeta Gundam" exploded with tension and emotional conflict, "GQuuuuuuX" created a completely different atmosphere using a similar composition. While the relationships between the characters evoked Zeta Gundam, the scenario firmly rooted itself in the context of "GQuuuuuuX," earning much praise for its masterful adaptation.

In this scene, with the fateful rivalry between Char and Kycillia unfolding in a manner reminiscent of Zeta Gundam, viewers were left both laughing and a bit tearful—it definitely struck a chord with the hearts of the Zeta Gundam generation.

"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the latest entry in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, which has been ongoing since 1979. The story centers on Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), a high school girl living peacefully in a space colony, who is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as “Clan Battle” after meeting the mysterious girl Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa). The show is a much-discussed joint production between Studio Khara, known for works such as the "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series, and Sunrise. The advance theater edition, released in January before the TV broadcast, was a huge hit with a box office revenue of about 3.4 billion yen. Nationwide re-screenings began on June 20 in 368 theaters.
