The anime "My Dress-Up Darling" Season 2, which began airing sequentially from July 12, features the debut of new character Amane Himeno (voiced by Ayumu Murase) in episode 14. Both Amane and the performance of male voice actor Murase have captivated viewers, with reactions such as “He doesn't look like a guy at all. I’m falling for him,” and “Murase-san’s cute girl voice is insanely powerful!” flooding social media.
In episode 14, titled “Breasts Can Be Equipped,” cosplay-loving high school girl Marin Kitagawa (voiced by Hina Suguta) and her classmate Wakana Gojō (voiced by Shōya Ishige) encounter Amane at a cosplay event. Amane, cosplaying as an adorably cute female character, is in fact a boy. Even after learning this, Gojō thinks to himself as he watches Amane, “He totally doesn’t look like a guy. Is it the makeup? The gestures? How does he come across as so feminine…?” That’s just how convincingly feminine Amane appeared.
Amane is played by male voice actor Ayumu Murase. Murase is known for his wide vocal range and ability to seamlessly voice female characters, earning him the reputation of being a “dual-voiced” voice actor.
