This relentless series of developments left long-time fans ecstatic: "Bask, Gates, Psycho Gundam… it's information overload—I can't process it all!" and "I'm so glad I watched Zeta Gundam in advance!" Meanwhile, newer fans were notably perplexed, asking, "Who is Bask? Some random old guy?" and "Is Gates a new character?" The generational gap in reactions became a hot topic.

Many voices insisted, "You can't understand GQuuuuuuX with just the original series," and "You need to study up on Zeta." On social media, the passionate enthusiasm of Zeta Gundam fans ran parallel to the bafflement of newcomers, creating an unusual kind of excitement.

"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the latest installment in the long-running "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, which began in 1979. The story follows high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), who lives peacefully in a space colony until she meets the mysterious girl Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) and is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling competition known as "Clan Battle." The joint production by Studio Khara, acclaimed for their work on the "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" series, and Sunrise has garnered much attention. Its theatrical premiere, released this January ahead of the TV broadcast, became a huge hit with a box office gross of approximately 3.4 billion yen. As of June 20th, it is being re-screened in 368 theaters nationwide.
