Currently streaming in a marathon format, the anime "The Apothecary Diaries" is adapted from the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. The work has also been serialized in two monthly magazines as manga adaptations, and the series’ total circulation has surpassed 40 million copies. The TV anime aired its two consecutive cours starting in October 2023, gaining immense popularity and attention for Maomao’s deduction cases as a food taster in the inner palace and her comedic interactions with Jinshi. The second season of the anime aired starting in January 2025.
