Currently available for binge streaming, the anime “The Apothecary Diaries” is based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. The story has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines, and the series has surpassed a total of 40 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired for two consecutive cours starting in October 2023, gaining huge popularity and widespread attention for its suspenseful mysteries as Maomao works as a “food taster” in the rear palace, as well as for the comedic interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The anime's second season began airing in January 2025.
