Toward the end of the segment, the studio tensed up with the surprising appearance of “Inago Tsukudani” (locust tsukudani). Serizawa let out a shriek, saying, “I don’t even want to look at it!” but faced the challenge by sandwiching it in rice: “I’ll hide it with the rice.”
Her desperate attempt to keep a straight face while eating had everyone in the studio laughing uproariously. Naganawa struggled as well, saying with a wry smile, “I can’t eat the head!” and decided to remove it before eating. Other varieties included “Asari,” “Ebi,” “Kikurage,” “Gyūniku,” “Hotate,” “Maguro,” and “Fukinoto”—a colorful lineup of tsukudani kept appearing one after another. It was so delicious that they ended up asking for second helpings of rice.
Though each tsukudani boasted unique flavors, the “Unagi Tsukudani” was ultimately chosen as the champion. Both hosts agreed wholeheartedly, and the conclusion earned a round of unanimous applause: “No complaints here!”
