Reactions online to the new character Zanka were explosive: “The gap in his personality is great!” “I thought he was a cool character, but he’s actually an emotional, cute rich boy, lol.” The dialect performance by renowned voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka was also well-received, with comments like “The dialect is just too good,” “Matsuoka-san’s voice is so nice!” and “They’re really targeting the otaku crowd!”

Gachiakuta is a battle action anime based on the popular manga currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine (Kodansha), with original work by Keisuke Urana and graffiti design by Hideyoshi Andou. The story begins with Rudo, an orphan born in a slum inhabited by descendants of criminals, who falls into the “Abyss” after being convicted of a crime he did not commit.

■Episode 3 “Lower World” Synopsis:
Enjin is a “Giver,” an ability user who can bestow life and power onto objects. After awakening to his own powers as a Giver, Rudo is scouted by Enjin to join the “Cleaners,” an organization that eliminates chimeric beasts born from garbage. Seeking a way to return to the “Heavenly World,” where he used to live, Rudo accepts the offer, but immediately finds himself at odds with his mentor Zanka.
