Further pressing Koga with the same question, she replied, “That’s exactly why each of his words really hits home. The sisters are so famous that there’s no one who doesn’t know them, so people tend to either worship them or feel like they’re from a different world. But Yū-kun faces each one of us squarely, genuinely looking at us as individuals. There’s an authenticity to his words that just feels different, you know...”
Hinata, who plays Yū, provided a concrete example, saying “Even if there were rumors at school or something, I don’t think Yū would believe them.” Koga agreed, saying “Ah, that makes sense!” She added, “He interacts with people based on what he sees for himself, so the weight and impact of his words are completely different. That’s what makes him so great!” she concluded with conviction.
Hinata also commented on Koga’s opinion, saying “He seems like someone who really trusts his own impressions. That’s amazing.” Yoshino Aoyama, who had been listening intently, prefaced her answer with, “I feel sorry to follow such great responses from everyone, but—” then candidly stated, “The fact that he can clean.”
In the first episode of the anime, Yū’s impressive ability to clean both the dojo and the Mikadono house is at a level you wouldn’t expect from an ordinary person. Aoyama agreed, saying, “To polish the dojo to that sparkling state! Cleaning tatami is really tricky, but he does it quickly and skillfully, all by himself, without forcing it onto anybody else. He never demands, ‘Do it.’ Remember how messy and smelly our house was before? Suddenly, it was sparkling clean. His life skills are what make my heart flutter.”
Additionally, referring to the meal that Yū first cooked as part of his approach to becoming a family member, she remarked, “People say his cooking is just average in taste, but preparing meals with so much consideration for everyone is enough to win me over. On the contrary, being able to consistently keep that level of taste is impressive in itself—a kind of talent in not becoming especially good at cooking. No matter what he makes, it’s always edible. That’s really something.” Amami chimed in, “I want that! If possible, I’d like him to do the cooking, laundry, and cleaning at my home too...” she pleaded.
Both Koga and Hinata expressed agreement, and Aoyama concluded by saying, “It’s that respect-worthy ability in daily life that makes my heart flutter!”
