A Powerful Character, Naito Mudano, Falls—Episode 6 of the Anime “Tougen Anki” Delivers a Shocking and Despair-Filled Development: “Isn’t This Checkmate Already?”

The sixth episode of the anime “Tougen Anki” has been airing sequentially since August 15. The skilled instructor of Rasetsu Academy, Naito Mudano (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya), is defeated by the enemy, leaving viewers shocked and saying, “Even Mudano was taken out so easily...”

In the previous fifth episode, Mudano rushed to the scene to fight off the assault by Tsubakiri Momomiya (voiced by Daisuke Kishio) and the Momotaro Agency. However, in the following episode 6, “There’s a Limit Even to Outside Means,” Mudano is trapped inside a massive box created by Yomogi Momokusa’s (voiced by Mariya Ise) powers. Moreover, he is struck by an explosion inside the box and collapses.

Mudano has been portrayed as a formidable character who previously defeated the highly skilled fighter Jin Kōgasaki (voiced by Kōtarō Nishiyama) with ease. The sudden development in which Mudano is incapacitated so quickly has left viewers stunned: “Sensei Mudano was taken out too—does that mean it’s checkmate...?”, “Even Mudano was taken down so easily...,” “I’m worried about Mudano-san,” and similar surprised reactions have followed one after another.
