“Tougen Anki” is adapted from the popular manga by Yura Urushibara, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Champion” (Akita Shoten). Inspired by Japan’s beloved folk tale “Momotaro,” the series is a new-generation, dark hero demon saga revolving around the conflict between those who carry the blood of Oni and those who inherit the blood of Momotaro. The story begins when a boy named Shiki Ichinose (voiced by Kazuki Ura), who has been living as a regular human, is suddenly attacked by a mysterious man affiliated with the “Momotaro Agency.”
Episode 6: “There’s a Limit Even to Outside Means”
[Synopsis]
The corpse of an Oni brought into the scene had Tsubakiri’s bacteria implanted in it. Under the influence of Tsubakiri’s powers, the corpse attacks its former comrades. With the support unit and the wounded being unfit for battle, the Kyoto branch faces an existential crisis. Recognizing that the situation is unfavorable, Kyoya Oiranzaka immediately decides to evacuate. Shiki assists his comrades in fighting the undead and helping others evacuate, but feels intense anger at having to kill once-dead friends once more. Meanwhile, elsewhere in Kyoto, Mudano leads the Oni unit to confront Tsubakiri and his faction. Upon understanding the gravity of the situation, Mudano attempts to withdraw his unit back to the Kyoto branch, but is confined inside a giant box created by Yomogi’s ability. Then, the monster “Aguri” created by Tsubakiri blows up the box itself...
