Incidentally, the name of the large composite weapon equipped by this Gyan is “Hakuji,” which is most likely derived from the Pilot M’Quve in “Mobile Suit Gundam” who was known for collecting white porcelain vases and antiques. This is just another of the clever Easter eggs embedded in “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.”

“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” is the latest installment in the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series, which has been ongoing since 1979. The story centers on high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), who enjoys a peaceful life in a space colony until she meets a mysterious girl named Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) and gets pulled into the illegal mobile suit dueling tournament known as “Clan Battle.”

The joint production between Studio Khara, known for the “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series, and Sunrise has generated much buzz. The theatrical preview version, released in January ahead of the TV series, was a major box office hit, earning approximately 3.4 billion yen. Even after the broadcast of all 12 episodes concluded in June, new merchandise continues to be released, and the original soundtrack is slated for release on August 27, keeping interest high. In July, a special event was also held at “Anime Expo 2025,” the largest anime event in North America, in Los Angeles.
