Episode 8: “Unreliable Heroics”
[Synopsis]
Separated from his friends after being attacked by Agri, Shiki and his companions are scattered. Kuina Sazanami uses her Blood Erosion Release ability and manages to defeat one Agri, but is nearly killed by another Agri who appears right after. Witnessing this, Rokuro Syujyutuzai can do nothing but tremble in fear. Why is he so cowardly? His thoughts turn to his first love, Ruru, who has now passed away. She was the one who gave him strength, but as he is now, Rokuro feels he cannot face her with pride in the afterlife. Resolving to fight, he steels himself for battle. Meanwhile, Shiki, who fled with Mei, is also fighting another Agri. However, Mei, believing she will die just like her parents, has given up all hope. To her, Shiki declares, “Fight against despair!” He then hides Mei and launches an offensive himself, determined to fight back.
