Set in the Taisho era, it tells the story of Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), a young boy fighting after his family is killed by demons. The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began airing in April 2019, quickly became a sensation, and the sequel film "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. As of now, cumulative worldwide circulation of the original manga has reached 220 million copies, making it one of the most successful works in the history of Japanese manga and anime.
The TV anime has continued with arcs such as the "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc," and it was announced that the concluding "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle" will be produced as a trilogy. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza's Return," which premiered on July 18, 2025, has already surpassed 28 billion yen in box office revenue within its first 38 days.
