Latest Updates Including New Cast & PV Announced! Anime "Tougen Anki" to Start "Nerima Arc" in October!

A special program titled "TV Anime 'Tougen Anki' Special – Rasetsu Academy Arc" was broadcast exclusively and for free on ABEMA on August 20, 2025 (Wednesday) from 8:00 PM.

Kazuki Ura (voice of Shiki Ichinose), Kaito Miura (voice of Rokuro Kiriyama), and Aimi (voice of Kuina Sazanami) appeared on the show and discussed the story up to Episode 6, as well as participated in variety segments to deepen the bonds among the Rasetsu Academy members. In addition, during the program, several new updates were announced, including the start of the second cour "Nerima Arc" in October, the release of the fourth PV, and the introduction of new cast members.

"Tougen Anki" is a new-generation dark hero demon tale based on the classic folktale "Momotaro," depicting the conflict between descendants of demons and those with Momotaro’s blood from the perspective of the demons. When asked about the appeal of the series, Aimi commented, "I thought having the story from the demon side's perspective was something rarely seen before," touching upon the originality of the world. Ura added, "At first it seems like the demons are simply being persecuted, but you find out even the Momotaro side has a tragic past, and both backgrounds are well developed, which makes it interesting," speaking to the depth of the story. Miura also agreed, saying, "Depending on whom you empathize with, the way you see the series can change quite a bit."

They then quickly moved into recapping the story so far with a digest video. When asked about the audience's reaction, Aimi spoke about the "visual beauty." Scenes such as Shiki being attacked by the Momotaro Agency and Shiki’s "Blood Corrosion Release" had the studio echoing reactions like "Whoa!", "So intense!", and "The blood effects are beautiful!"

During the character introductions, Aimi also revealed her "favorite" character. As the students of Rasetsu Academy and the Momotaro descendants were introduced, the monitor displayed Kyoya Oiranzaka, Chief of the Kyoto Branch Support Squad, prompting Aimi to confess, "He's my absolute favorite! Despite his flashy appearance, he’s incredibly kind! That gap makes him so cool...!" To this, Ura teased, "Hey! That’s a completely different reaction from before," but ultimately agreed, "He really is cool," acknowledging Kyoya’s charm. Their cheerful banter filled the studio with laughter.
